NFT DESIGN

NFT stands for non-fungible token, and are typically traded and sold on the Ethereum blockchain, creating a robust, decentralized cryptocurrency. This method of finance returns much of the power back to the artist and away from large scale art traders. As a result, this is where much of my interest in graphic design lies. 

 

I've been working on a series of NFTs not just to create profitable graphic design, but to experiment with the nature of this technology. I take glitchy aberrations and typographical iconography to provide commentary on the nature of our new digital landscape.

 

That is how I constructed my brand, "ROOKDAAR," which translates to "smoke there" in Dutch, alluding to the smoking gun that is the placement of NFTs not only within the greater cryptocurrency ecosystem, but in our financial system as a whole.
